  • Copolymerization of CO2 with propylene oxide using a [60] fullerene derivative as a co-catalyst, S Aikawa, J Iwasawa, S Nishiyama, S Ishii, H Noguchi, Y Yoshida, KOBUNSHI RONBUNSHU, 62, (4) 193 - 195,   2005 , Anilinofullerene was found to be active as a co-catalyst in the copolymerization Of CO2 and propylene oxide (PO) using diethylzinc catalyst system. H-1 NMR revealed that the product obtained was an almost completely alternating copolymer Of CO2 and PO. The yield of poly (propylene carbonate) (PO-CO2) obtained by this catalyst system increased notably in comparison with that obtained by the conventional diethylzinc-H2O catalyst system (1 : 0.9 molar ratio). GPC chromatograms provided evidence that aniilinofullerene was bonded to the PO-CO2 copolymer.
